Understanding the Cost of Poor Mental Health in UK Workplaces

Image

>> A hidden crisis is draining UK businesses: poor mental health among employees. Estimates suggest it costs employers between £42–45 billion a year
mentalhealth.org.uk while other research puts the figure at £56 billion, with presenteeism (people at work but unproductive) accounting for half the losses.

When staff are struggling, they are more likely to leave, call in sick or work inefficiently. Addressing mental-health issues with robust support programmes is therefore not just the right thing to do – it’s good for business. According to the Mental Health Foundation, every £1 spent on mental‑health interventions yields about £5 in return mentalhealth.org.uk.

"I’ve worked with these guys since my days at HBOS, then Lloyds and now at Ensek. They really know what they’re doing. Hire them, use them, get to know them and let them know your teams – you’ll not be disappointed"
