Poison Swamp

Your team is one of a number of oil exploration units operating in the dense jungles of South America. One of the mobile drilling rigs has caused a blowout, which has sent crude oil and dangerous toxins spewing out into the mangrove swamps that make up the jungle floor in this area.

You and your team are faced with the prospect of having to cross the now contaminated swamp. All you have at your disposal three old beer crates and one plank of wood. For safety reasons, only the crates may touch the ground, If any other equipment touches the swamp then it will become contaminated and thus unsafe to use. Due to the toxic fumes in the area, your team can only spend 15 minutes trying to cross the swamp.

Verbal communication is extremely important in solving this challenge which will help the groups in future. The short team activity will also enforce the necessity of group decision making.

This activity can be run at almost any venue across the UK and can be adapted to suit your needs and objectives. The activity can be run alongside and as part of other tasks and games to make it even more enjoyable. The task will be under professional supervision from the highly experienced Fire Events staff so you will have nothing to worry about apart from having fun!
