Prepare to go back to 1066 as you and your team compete against your comrades to design, create and fire your catapults. May the best team win, and the losers , well, just get wet!

You and your team have to construct a catapult using only the materials supplied. No other materials are to be used. It must be capable of firing the ‘missiles’ (a small ball) at the enemy strong hold that is marked out on the floor, either in the room you are in, or outside. The catapult must be completely free standing. It must also be robust enough to withstand the rigors of firing. Upon firing, we will allow two people to hold the catapult in order to steady it (but not hold it together!!)

For safety reasons, the firer must wear safety goggles during firing and the holders must look away from it in case the elastic snaps! You have: 20 minutes to carry out the task. After this time firing will commence, whether you are ready or not.

This activity can be run at almost any venue across the UK and can be adapted to suit your needs and objectives. The activity can be run alongside and as part of other tasks and games to make it even more enjoyable. The task will be under professional supervision from the highly experienced Fire Events staff so you will have nothing to worry about apart from having fun!
